Released at the beginning of June, this is the most ‘back to basics’ Air Jordan of the Air Jordan Releases in Summer 2014. The Air Jordan 1 retro attempts to close the gap between Michael Jordan’s first two signature offerings by combining their stand-out elements into one explosive sneaker. An OG colorway, the retro sneaker sports a white leather upper with contrasting red and black, while the black midsole is lined by a trim of red underneath. 2. Air Jordan 2 Retro White/Varsity Red/Neutral Grey
Also released at the beginning of June, this Air Jordan 2 retro colorway hadn’t been seen since the Countdown pack in 2008. Debuting way back in the 1986 season the Air Jordan 2 stands out from all the models with a faux lizard skin on the side. Originally crafted in Italy, this high top version of the iconic shoe features a white upper with red and black accents spicing things up on an otherwise bland shoe.
3. Air Jordan 14 Retro Black/Vibrant Yellow/White
This year the Air Jordan 14 makes a comeback in a classic colorway, the “Thunder”. First spotted on the Air Jordan 4, the same design lightens up Air Jordan 14 silhouette adding to its Ferrari inspired look. Sporting an upper dominated by black, hints of striking yellow throughout liven up the mashup giving it that much-loved “Thunder” facade.

5. Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Gym Red/Sail
Another Air Jordan 1 retro to make the list of best Air Jordan Releases in Summer 2014. This one however disappointed US fans by being a Euro-only release. This time the Beaverton brand opts for the all-red color code that sneakerheads so dig, with the sneaker decked out in an red leather upper, with white accents making an appearance on the Swoosh and midsole.
6. Air Jordan 6 ‘Champagne’ Pure Green/Metallic Gold/Challenge Red
This is the Champagne edition of the Air Jordan 6 that released in June as part of the “Championship Pack”. There was also a ‘Cigar’ edition of the Air Jordan 6 released at the same time. Celebrating Jordan’s many victories during his illustrious career, the “Champagne” edition gets its name from the bubbly drink that is customary after a big win. A clear nod to MJ’s championship pedigree, the sneakers are dressed in rich shade of green with black and white accents showing through while gold makes a cameo on the tongue. This is one of the Air Jordan Releases in Summer 2014 that was met with mixed feelings.
7. Lance Mountain X Nike SB Air Jordan 1
Inspired by Lance Mountain’s days of skating in painted, mismatched Air Jordan 1′s, these sneakers make use of Mountain’s DIY styling. Set to be released in June this year, these mismatched sneakers are coated with a layer of white or black paint to match and mask the original colorways.
8. Air Jordan 6-17-24 Gym Red/Black/Platinum
One of Jordan’s most popular hybrids, this new Air Jordan combines the best of both worlds: the Air Jordan 6, 17, and 23. Dressed in a “Toro” like style it features a full gym red base with black and pure platinum detailing sitting atop a white speckled midsole and icy outsole.
9. Air Jordan 11 Retro Low Black Infrared 23 White/Pure Platinum
This Air Jordan 11 Retro Low colorway was one of the most anticipated Air Jordan Releases in Summer 2014. Part of the 23rd anniversary celebrations of the Air Jordan VI, this Air Jordan 11 Retro Low has infrared accents all over. Borrowing elements from the Air Jordan 2 Retro, this Air Jordan 11 Retro combines splatter print and infrared accents on the classic silhouette. Black dominates the look, while splatter print takes care of the collar with infrared accents throughout.
10. Air Jordan Future Gym Red
Continuing with the assault of two-tone colorways, the Jordan Future “Gym Red” drapes the same simple style code in fiery tones. The traditional Jordan body is infused with an all red tone, with the only contrast coming in the form of gold accents on the logos and lace tips.
